How to Create and Customize a Drip Email Campaign
In this video, we will guide you through the process of creating and customizing a drip email campaign from scratch.
Step 1: Access the Drip Campaigns
- Click on the Campaigns menu.
- Select Drips.
- Click on the Create Drip option.
- Give a name to your drip, e.g., "Sign Up Followers".
Step 2: Select the Sender
- Choose the sender for this drip.
- If your desired sender is not listed, create a new sender.
Step 3: Customize Your Drip Content
A drip campaign is a sequence of emails sent at different times to users. For example, if targeting new signups on your website, you might create a drip for "Hooli" with the subject "Welcome to Hooli. Let's get started."
- Personalize your subject line.
- Customize your email preview text by clicking the Edit Preview Text button.
- Use the editor to choose different content pieces or rows for customization.
- Divide the page into columns as needed (e.g., two columns, four columns, custom post column with image).
- Select from a variety of pre-created templates for different occasions, such as a welcome email.
Step 4: Add and Customize Additional Emails
- Click on Add Email to include more emails in your drip campaign.
- Customize the timing for each email:
- First email: Send immediately upon subscription.
- Second email: Send after one day at a preferred time (e.g., 10 am).
- Third email: Send after three days at a preferred time.
- Exclude specific contacts using exclusion lists.
Step 5: Set Email States
- Ensure emails are set to Active state to be sent.
- Emails in Draft state will not be sent.
Step 6: Preview and Finalize Your Drip
- Use the Preview Drip option to visualize the sequence.
- Enter a user's contact to see how the drip will be sent.
- Utilize advanced settings to skip weekends or track with Google Analytics.
- Preview how emails will appear on mobile and in different modes (dark/light).
Finally, save your drip campaign. Congratulations, you have successfully created your drip!
