How to Bulk Mark Contacts as Unsubscribed in SendX

This guide will walk you through the process of bulk marking contacts as unsubscribed in SendX, which is often necessary when migrating contacts from your current email provider to SendX.

Step 1: Create a New List

  1. Navigate to the Audience section and click on Lists.
  2. Select the New List tab and provide an appropriate name for your list.
  3. Click on Create List.
  4. Once created, you will be redirected to the Lists tab where you can find your newly created list.

Step 2: Import Contacts

  1. Click on the Import button to import your contacts to the created list.
  2. Select CSV Import action and upload your list of already unsubscribed contacts, typically exported from your current email marketing provider.
  3. Click Continue and map the columns of your CSV file. Ensure to map the Email column.
  4. Decide whether to map or skip other columns.
  5. Once column mapping is done, click on Complete.

Step 3: Mark Contacts as Unsubscribed

  1. Go to the Bulk Action section of SendX by clicking on the top right profile icon and heading to Settings.
  2. In the settings page, click on Bulk Action.
  3. Click on Run Bulk Action in the bulk action section.
  4. Enter a name for the bulk action in the provided field in the modal.
  5. In the modal, click on List under contacts.
  6. Select the drop-down option labeled Select an Option and choose To Be Unsubscribed from the list.
  7. Scroll down and click on Global Unsubscribe under actions.
  8. Click the Run Bulk Action button to execute the action. Note that this operation may take some time.

Step 4: Verify Unsubscription

  1. To verify whether contacts have been unsubscribed correctly, go to the Audience tab.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Lists.
  3. In the list details, click on Info next to the specific contact.
  4. In the profile section, observe the unsubscribed status highlighted next to the email address.
  5. You can also check the contact timeline view to verify that the unsubscribed event happened properly.
