Email Personalization Tutorial

In this tutorial, we will explore how to add basic personalization to your emails. Personalization can make your emails more engaging and relevant to the recipient.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Identify the Text to Personalize:

We have an email template, and instead of just saying "Hi," we want to dynamically add the recipient's first name.

  2. Select the Text:

Select the text where you want to insert the personalized information.

  3. Use Merge Tags:

Click on the Merge Tags option. This will display all the Sendex Native fields such as email, first name, last name, and company, along with any custom fields available in your team.

  4. Embed the First Name:

Select the first name from the list. It will be automatically embedded in the email template. Now, whenever you send out this email, the recipient's first name will be inserted in place of the placeholder.

  5. Fallback Text:

If the first name does not exist for a contact, the text within double quotes will be used as a fallback. You can customize this text according to your needs.

  6. Add Another Personalized Field:

Let's add another personalized field. Select the location in the email where you want to add it, and then choose Merge Tags again. For example, select nickname to embed it in the email.

  7. Send the Email:

Send out the email and observe how it appears to the user.

Result

Here's how the email looks for the user:

  • The first name is embedded in the greeting.
  • The nickname, which is a custom field, is also embedded in the email.

This is how you can implement basic personalization in your emails. Thank you for watching!
