How to Create and Schedule an A-B Test Campaign on Sendex

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of creating and scheduling an A-B test campaign using Sendex. A-B test campaigns are useful for testing different subject lines and preview text combinations on a subset of your contact list to determine which variation performs best. The winning variation is then sent to the entire contact list.

Steps to Create an A-B Test Campaign

  1. Access A-B Split Test:

From your Sendex screen, navigate to Campaigns and select A-B Split Test. Here, you can create a new A-B split test.

  2. Design Subject Lines:

Add multiple subject lines and preview text combinations. For this example, we will use three subject lines. If you need assistance, use the Sendex AI subject line assistant to generate ideas.

  3. Select Editor:

Choose the type of editor for creating your A-B test newsletter content. We recommend using the Drag and Drop Editor. Select from over 1000 templates, such as a New Year theme, and customize it using drag-and-drop content options like titles, paragraphs, buttons, images, and videos.

  4. Preview Campaign:

Preview your A-B test campaign in different modes (light, dark) and on various devices (tablet, desktop, mobile). Once satisfied, proceed to the next step.

  5. Select Recipients:

Choose the recipients for your A-B test campaign. For example, select the LB feature test segment. Specify the percentage of contacts to test the A-B variations on, such as 20%.

  6. Determine Winning Variation:

After testing on the selected percentage, the subject line with the highest engagement will be chosen. The remaining contacts will receive the campaign with the winning subject line after two days.

  7. Review and Confirm:

Review your campaign for any issues. Fix any listed problems before proceeding to scheduling.

  8. Schedule Campaign:

Choose to send the campaign immediately or schedule it for later. If scheduling, select the desired time zone, date, and time. Enable tracking configuration to add parameters to your links for Google Analytics tracking.

  9. Finalize and Send:

Confirm all details and hit submit. Your A-B test campaign is now scheduled and will be sent on the specified date, testing the variations and sending the winning version to all contacts after two days.

That's it for this tutorial. Thank you for following along!
